Cancelling and Rescheduling lessons

Do I get a refund if an instructor cancels my lesson or doesn’t show up?

It can happen that an instructor cancels your lesson or for some reason doesn’t show up for your lesson. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! 

It’s important to understand that we don’t actually withdraw any money from your account until the instructor you booked confirms your lesson. We simply “freeze” the relevant amount in your bank account so it’s not available for you to spend. 

From the moment you book a lesson, the instructor has 48 hours to confirm, reschedule or cancel it. Should an instructor cancel or not confirm a lesson within this timeframe, we automatically cancel the lesson and immediately “unfreeze” the money.This process usually completes within a few hours from the cancellation. Since no money ever left your account, you don’t need to wait for any refund as such. 

It is a slightly different case if an instructor first confirms a lesson with you and then cancels it or doesn’t show up. Money has actually left your account, as the instructor had previously confirmed the lesson. In this case, we will refund you the full amount you paid for the lesson. It takes around 3-5 days for the refund to reach your account. Should you not have received your refund after 5 days, please contact us either via the in-app messenger or by emailing us at hello@drivio.co.uk and we will look into your case right away.
